SENIOR SPECIAL ASSISTANT TO THE PRESIDENT ON JOB CREATION

Last night, the Senior Special Assistant to the Vice President on Job creation made a live video chat  on Facebook addressing all Npower issues.Since majority of beneficiaries might not have access to this video ,I took out time to pen down all of the issues that he spoke on about the 2016 Npower beneficiaries.See below

COLLECTION OF DEVICESelection of device is open to only those with no payment issues. The first set (Batch A) to collect their device will be those that were able to select device on or before March 27 2016.They are about 116,000 volunteers. After the portal closes today,we will be putting up more details on about the devices and vendors, time table and when the device will get to your location for the Batch A volunteers.
Afri one 2 in one device is currently preloaded in lagos. We are still on schedule. The dispatch will be on Saturday but the date and time for collection will be communicated to you soon.We will send you an sms to notify you where or when to pick up the device. You will need a some form of ID for the pick up.
At the device selection page(NPVN),the device service centers are not collection centers for npower device. They are service centers for all the device providers. It was provided to inform you of your choice.

REDEPLOYMENT
There is no redeployment with Npower, this is not NYSC. You made your choice and we obliged.Again, volunteers cannot move from one Npower category to the other. It was clearly stated that you will be deployed based on your state of residence. The truth is,we dont have built in mechanism for redeployment.
However,in the early days, especially december2016,there were cases of erroneous deployment due to similarities on local goverment.Few local goverment, especially in Nassarawa state. We are fully aware of some of the genuine error in posting, those affected we took note and we collated such errors across the states. They will be redeployed perhaps we are waiting for the end of school session.Because we dont live in an idealistic world, volunteers will have to give a convincing reason for redeployment and we will like to consider that on a case by case basis.
Kindly note that Npower is a temporary employability enhancement Program

Among the 200,000 that were employed across the states ,as at June before the portal was re-opened,180,606 are qualified volunteers, meaning you scaled through physical verification. Then a total of 4822 persons were disqualified for a reason or the other.14464 persons were absent, meaning they were  absent all through the moment when physical verification started till the end of it been March 13th.The point is all through the various verification process, they never showed up,so it will be impossible to receive payment or been deployed.
We are aware that there were some state that erroneously deployed all beneficiaries that were sent to them regardless of the report from the physical verification that was conducted by NOA and NYSC. So there is no way we could pay such persons.
Those who have not been deployed and profile shows not verified, clearly you can not expect payment.
Before sending qualified 180,606 volunteers into the payment environment. We have what we called the "NIBSS Verified which is the Nigeria Inter-Bank Settlement System where they check the details you have given us on your portal. They compare the records they have that is tied to your BVN  to the one you ve given on the portal which is your First, middle and last name or surname, bank name, account number, bvn as provided.Where there is a match, you will be paid and that has been the story of about 130,814 beneficiaries out of 163,500.These beneficiaries have received complete payment because their details matched.
Its important you know that if your details didnt match could have been a further ground for disqualification from the program, which means we should have disqualified perhaps 33,000 beneficiaries. You should be grateful to the President and Vice President who asked us to work month on month.till we validate you for payment.
Some of the reasons you have not been paid are;
1.No matching bvn.
2.When you have a matching bvn but your names do not match.Atleast two names must match
3. Bank account not linked to bvn
4.Providing a non nuban account number .Nuban account number is the 10 digit account number.
5. Using an NYSC account that receives only 19 thousand naira and cannot receive 30 thousand naira.
The good news is that we have been able to assist those with these issues,as at the end of May we  had 163,500 qualified beneficiaries that could receive payment and those who had received just a month stipend are included in this batch. We will continue to add more beneficiaries to this batch that comes up to update their account.Once your account is updated,we will send it to NIBSS  and you re validated,we will pay you for the month. For example if you got your first payment in March, you will continue to get April,May ,June before we will work to pay you your backlogs. So good news, before the end of July,we will be processing a lot of backlogs for payment.
December 2016,was the month we started paying npower beneficiaries and the criteria for payment was for those who have been physically verified and thier names got to us before December 31,remember not all of you where verified at the same time. Some of you who meets the criteria but had account issues will receive December backlogs.
To know your Npower status, sometime next week,we will be uploading it on your npvn. If after 8 months we havnt been able to pay you,you will be exited from the Npower program because there are still  some of you as of last week friday, your bvn are zero name matched, meaning your name on the portal has no match to your bvn record, some has just one name match while some used their spouses bvn.
